Today we will be discussing the life of Daniel and its spiritual applications to our lives today. I pray that as you read, study and meditate on the topic of today's post you will be blessed in Jesus name. God bless you. Before we begin the discuss of today's post I want us to pray to the Holy Spirit for some few seconds or minutes. God bless you as you comply.

Lets turn our bibles to the book of Daniel 1;1-21. Please read it meditatively and carefully in order to fully understand the passage. Our bible text tells the story of the siege and capture of Jerusalem by the king Nebucadnezzar. After the siege and destruction of Jerusalem, some of the nobles, elites and the young  were carried to Babylon to serve in the palace of king Nebuchadnezzar and were subsequently taught the manners, language and culture of the Chaldeans( Babylonians). Daniel and his friends distinguished themselves from the other captives and were exalted beyond their imaginations and today we can learn a lot from the secrets of their success and apply it to our lives.
As I read and studied the story of Daniel and his friends the Holy Spirit revealed to me some spiritual lessons that will be helpful to us (including I) in our quest for complete and total success in our lives and I have decided to share them with you. They include:

1; Daniel was under the Abrahamic blessings and covenant. Daniel was a descendant of Abraham and a partaker of the old covenant so the blessings subsequently manifested in his life. Applying this to our life we need to discover and claim our rights as christians under the new covenant and as descendants of Jesus Christ. We have a right to good health, success, peace, prosperity, favors, protections etc. The problem is that many of us are still waiting on God to intervene in our unpleasant situations but God has already acted. Its left to us to discover our rights and claim them in Jesus name. That's why its important you study your bible everyday. Claim your healing now by faith in Jesus name.

2; Daniel recognised his heritage as a Hebrew child( God's chosen people). As christians we must also learn to know who we are in Christ and our positions and authorities in God.

3; Daniel refused to eat the king's rich and juicy food because he considered himself holy and pure and would not defile himself with them. In ancient Babylon, meats and food were dedicated to idols before taken for private consumption and Daniel knew this that's why he refused to eat the king's food, so also as christians we must never defile ourselves with sinful lusts and desires that make make us repulsive to God. We have been cleansed and sanctified (set apart, seperated) and we must act like it. We must not behave like sinners.

4: Because of Daniel's sacrifice (refusal to eat the king's food), God blessed and favored him immensely. So also, anytime we make a sacrifice for God, God blesses us and favors beyond our expectations. This is a fact.

5: Daniel did not allow the circumstances around him to weigh him down. Judah had just been captured and destroyed and Daniel and his friends were carried captive but Daniel did not allow that to weigh him down and deter him from achieving his goals so also we must not allow our circumstances to deter us from serving God and fulfilling our goals in our life.

6: Daniel was living in the midst of people who were completely unbelievers, idolaters, and satanic. The chaldeans were the originators and pioneers of astrology and were masters of magic.  As christians living among sinners and unbelievers we must sanctify ourselves from the world and sin by immersing ourselves in the word of God and Christ. We must act different.

7: Daniel had complete faith in His God, that is why he could request for only vegetables and water. We also as christians must have complete faith in God no matter the challenges we are facing. We must be willing to take sensible risks for the gospel sake and for Christ.

8: God rewarded Daniel's total trust and committment in him. As christians we must also be totally committed to God and the gospel and we will be subsequently rewarded. That's a fact.

9;  Daniel discovered, recognised and made use of his talent and abilities. Daniel 1:17, 2:16. As christians we must also discover, recognise and make use of  talents in order to fulfil the goals and success God has destined for us.

10; God used Daniel's abilities to make him prosper among peers. As christians also, our success and fulfilment is connected to the proper utilization of our abilities, potentials and talents that God has deposited in us.

11: Daniel was very young when he was chosen to be in the king's palace and to eat the king's meat and wine but he refused so also as an endtime christian no matter how young we are, we must learn to stand up for God, the gospel and the truth. Age is not an excuse to misbehave or forget Christ.

12:  Daniel was humble. He did not allow his talent, gift, the honour, promotion and the glory God was giving him to make him proud. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. That says it all. Satan fell because of pride.

13: Daniel fasted and prayed alot. Daniel 2:46-49. As christians we must learn to fast and pray. This enables the Holy Spirit to effectively use us.
Lastly, because of all what Daniel did he became a beloved of heaven. Please let's pay attention. Even though God loves us all, God has His beloved. Ask yourself this question; Why weren't the other hebrew children called beloved by God? Why was only Daniel called "beloved"? Please let's learn from this. If you live a life that pleases God you become a beloved of God. Daniel 9:3, 10:2-3, 6:10, 6:13.
I hope we have learnt a lot from these spiritual lessons and we will apply them to our lives. Please I want us to pray this prayer point:" Father God, make me a beloved of yours". God bless you as you obey and I pray that the eyes of our understanding will be enlightened in Jesus name.

Please if you are not born again and want to become again born again, please say these words with your mouth and believe them in your mouth: Lord Jesus I accept you as my personal Lord and savior. I believe that you died for my sins and rose for my justification and you are seated in heaven as the son of God. Thank you for what you have done for me today. Amen. You are now born again and a child of Jesus Christ. Please start attending a bible believing church and serve Jesus Christ. God bless you.
