The Gift of Jesus Christ: Apostles

The Gift of Jesus Christ: Apostles    The book of 1 Corinthians 12:28 tells us about the different offices the Lord Jesus Christ gave to the church in order to equip and build the saints(christians) for kingdom work and the first one mentioned are apostles. Who are apostles? An apostle is simply someone who is sent from one place to another place to fulfil something. He is a special messenger. The office of the apostle in the last three decades has drawn a lot of interest and many Christians have attached some of forms mystery and adulation to it and this is wrong and misleading. This is why I've decided to discuss this very important spiritual office.       There are five types of apostles and they are as follows: 1: The Chief Apostle who was Jesus Christ 2: The Twelve Apostles 3: The Apostle Paul 4: Modern day Apostles who plant churches 5: Persons sent by a local church   for a particular mission.    ...

The Hardest Of Jesus's Commandments

Jesus Christ, the greatest man who ever lived, taught alot of things to his disciples and Christians in general.  His teachings are the most important commands that every Christian must obey and follow. Lately the zeal to study and practice the teachings of Jesus Christ has been reignited in my heart because I've come to discover that most Church leaders today have simply ignored(consciously or unconsciously) the teachings of Jesus Christ and have instead chosen to preach doctrines that are subjective, heretical and stereotyped. Therefore my next posts will center Largely on the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in the four gospels(matthew, Mark, Luke and John) In the book of St. Matthew 6:25, Jesus Christ gave the following command "So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn't life consist of more than food and clothing ?". This command is to me the hardest(humanly speaking) of Christ's teaching...

THE CHRISTIAN GRACES: BROTHERLY KINDNESS AND LOVE

Image
In today's society Christian brotherly kindness i.e love, affection and kindness towards our christian brethren first before we display and give love to unbelievers is slowly eroding away. Many Christians are not empathetic towards to the plight of their brethren and that's what Apostle Peter is trying to discourage when he continues his message on the Christian Graces in 2 Peter 1:7 "to godliness add Christian affection; and to Christian affection add love ". I love the way the New Living translation relays it, 2 Peter 1:7 " Godliness leads to love for other Christians, and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone ". These verses are self explanatory. The Godliness we are now practicing and depicting impels us to care for our christian brothers and sisters in Christ first . We are inherently driven to care and show affection for our Christian brethren. Even when we don't feel obliged to be kind or caring to our fellow believers(...
