Welcome to today's post on my blog "THE TRUTH". Today we will continue the discuss of my last post "BEING BORN AGAIN". Lets go to our bible text John 3:1-11 again. Now from this verse we see a discussion occurring between Jesus and Nicodemus(his name means conqueror of the people), a pharisee (someone who is a strict propagator or custodian of Moses's laws.They believed in resurrection unlike the saduccees). Jesus tells him that before anyone can see the kingdom of God that person must be BORN AGAIN (vs 3).

    Now, who is a born again? We defined a born again in my last post but Jesus gave the spiritual definition of a born again in vs 5-6. A born again is someone who has become reborn in the spirit by  the incoming and indwelling of the Holy Spirit and by water. Now to some of you reading this post you might confused by this definition especially the terms spirit, and water. let me explain and dissect this terms as used in this verse. 

    The term spirit as used in this bible refers to our human spirit. Man is a spirit living in a body and having a soul. We are all spirits because our maker is the Spirit ( john 4:24, Genesis 2:7). If we didn't have a body our existence on earth would be illegal. The term water as used in this verse refers  to the HOLY SPIRIT and the WORD OF GOD (I will be explaining this in subsequents posts). So when one becomes born again the person is born of water and of the word of God. Please it is very important for believers to be aware of this. The moment we become born again (please this is a revelation) the Holy Spirit becomes joined with our spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17) and becomes one with our spirit. Our spirit man (the real man) then begins to undergo a form of  metamorphosis or changes as a result of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit(God) until we become that perfect (matured) man in Christ that God wants us to become. This is the state that God wants us become, a perfect man (Ephesians 4:13). Now, the change or metamorphosis carried out by the Holy Spirit can only be accelerated by the word of God (the bible which is Jesus). 

  Now this explains why many believers still behave like unbelievers even though they have the Holy Spirit in them. This does mean that the HOLY SPIRIT  is not effective but such believers have refused to accelerate the change or transformation ongoing in their spirit man by reading their bible everyday (as believers we must read, study, meditate and practice the word of God everyday). Its God responsibility to help us grow (Phillippians 1:6, Phillippians 2:13)  but we MUST play our role by reading our bible everyday in the power and knowledge of the Holy Spirit. God fulfilled His part of the responsibility by giving us the Holy Spirit  ( His power ) and there nothing left for Him to do for us and to even make it better for us He gave  us His  mind, thoughts and plans all wrapped in the Bible (His word). There is nothing God will do for us again, He did everything for us at the cross. We must fulfill our roles in our growth towards becoming a perfect man.
  Who is a perfect man? Can anyone be perfect? Well, i am sure these questions must be running through your minds right now. Well the perfect man the bible is always referring to is someone who has become matured in Christ. What are the characteristics of a matured believer?

• A matured  believer is always focused about the propagation of God's kingdom on earth.
• A matured believer is not controlled by this world's pleasures( such person is not materialistic)
• A matured believer is most concerned about lost souls.This is his/her main priority in life.
• A matured believer works in love. (This is the most significant attribute of a perfect believer).

Please note this, becoming born again is only a step in becoming a perfect man. As believers our main  goal is not to make heaven (if a believer walks in the Spirit, is led by the Spirit and is holy, such believer is already a citizen of heaven, Phillippians 3:20). God wants us to become like Him on this earth. If God wanted us to go to heaven immediately we became born again, He would have taken us there instantly but He left us here to represent Him and shine as lights among unbelievers (Matthew 5:16, Phillippians 2:15) and to bring lost souls into the kingdom of God.
I am sure you have learnt some new things and have been reminded of some things you already know from today's post. In my next post we will be demystifying a very common subject known as SIN. There is so much God will reveal to us. I want us to be also aware of the fact that becoming born again is the only true way to eternal life and heaven itself. Anyone who refuses to be become a born again Christian has rejected and made himself or herself a citizen of hell fire and eternal condemnation, thats why God wants you to be saved by becoming a born again Christian. God loves you. Please accept and believe in Him if you haven't.

Please say these words and believe them: Lord Jesus i welcome you into my life as my lord and savior. I believe you died for my sins and rose for my justification. I recognize you as God and lord of my life. Thank you for what you have done.Amen.
