I posted a video about a revelation given to a young lady about the coming of Jesus Christ below. Please watch, share and comment. Welcome to another time on my blog, The Truth. I know it's been quite a long time since I last published any post and I am sorry for the delay. I hope you all forgive me. I have been working on  improving the blog.

Today, we will be discussing an issue that I am sure stills disturbs many christians and of which many other christians are so ignorant of. In today's post we will be having a discuss on our citizenship and on our roles as Christ's ambassador on earth and so without wasting any time let's dive straight into our discuss for today and as is our custom on this blog, let's pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance before we begin any discuss. Please ensure that you pray because the Holy Spirit is the giver of knowledge and understanding and so we will need Him to direct us. Please pray for some few seconds or minutes. Thank you for your compliance. 

Lets turn our bibles to the book of Phillipians 3:20 which says " we, however are citizens of heaven. We look to the Lord Jesus Christ coming from heaven as our savior". Also lets go to Ephesians 2:19 which says " that is why you are no longer foreigners and outsiders but citizens together with God's people and members of God's family". Finally, lets turn our bibles to the book of 2 corinthians 5:20 which says "therefore, we(christians) are(a fact) Christ's representatives(ambassadors), and through us God is calling you.  We beg you on behalf of Christ to become reunited with God". All these verses are all gotten from the God's word to the nation translation. Aren't these verses powerful and enlightening? I am sure that some of you christians and believers who hardly read your bibles will probably be amazed that such a powerful verse is in the bible. In fact these verses are one of the verses that changed my understanding of my christianity. You might be wondering that I used the word "my christianity". 

Well our salvation and christianity is personal and must be worked out in reverence to our father Jehovah God. Phillipians 2:12, which says "my dear friends, you have always obeyed, not only when I was with you but even more now that I'm absent. In the same way continue to work out your salvation with fear(reverence for God) and trembling". 

From these verses, it is clear that as christians we are all citizens of heaven. That's why I am amazed when I see many christians praying and fasting always because they believe they will make heaven through their prayer and fastings(please it's good to pray so that you will be  empowered to live the kind of lifestyle that depicts you as citizens of heaven) . That's ignorance in action. In our second verse in the book of Corinthians Apostle Paul speaking under the influence of the Holy Spirit tells us that we are representative or ambassadors of Christ on earth. How did that happen? When we became born again, we became reborn by God i.e God Himself gave birth to us again in the power of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ and since our father lives in heaven we automatically became citizens of heaven but the question is this: why didn't God take us instantly to heaven since that is our new home. Why did God leave us in this corrupt and decaying world? I am sure that's a question  that is probably puzzling you now? Well, the answer to that question is simple; God left us on this earth to represent Him as gods and as His sons and daughters. 

We are ambassadors for Christ. Who is an ambassador?  According to a source, An ambassador is an official envoy, especially a highest ranking diplomat who represents a state and is usually to another sovereign state, or to an international organization as the resident representative of their own government that sends them. It is derived from a middle English ambassadour, Anglo-French ambassateur which means a servant or minister.

We as christians are ambassadors for God on earth. We are not of this world but its so sad to see many christians behaving and acting like the earthly, sinful and fleshy people of this world. Let me use this illustration; imagine a lion that has been sent to a flock of goat to educate, enlighten and conform the goats to the way and manner of lions but instead of influencing the goats. the goats end up influencing and changing the lion to act like a goat and the lion even starts eating grass. Isn't that a disgrace to that lion? Painfully that is how many christians behave today in this world. 

We have been sent to this world to influence and enlighten this world to know our father Jehovah God and shine as lights but on the contrary it's so common to see many christians acting like the sinners and the wicked people of this world and its so sad. Imagine how sad God is when He sees His son or daughter who carries His Holy Spirit act like the earthly and sinful people of this earth. Please such actions should never be found among christians because we are a different species from the sinful people of this world. But I have have good news for you my christian brethen, if you are lost and have been trapped by the desires and lusts of this world and have started acting like the sinful people of this world. 

The good news is that we can be restored to our godly state and become like our Father  Jehovah God. We can do this by renewing our mind with the word of God, having a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit and shining as lights of Christ. As christians, we must learn to work in the power of the Holy Spirit, we must work miracles, heal the sick, raise the dead and display the power of the Holy Spirit among the unbelievers. God must shine through us. All christians are supposed to go to heaven but can a christian miss heaven and lose his/her citizenship? I will answer that question below.  

Let me use this illustration to give us the closest answer to that question; imagine an ambassador who has been sent to represent his country in another nation and on getting there after sometime he forgets his ambassadorial role and starts acting completely like the inhabitants of that nation. He starts smoking, drinking, fighting,rioting, and even rapes and kills someone of that country and that country has a zero tolerance to murder and rape whether you are a foreigner or not. The ambassador after being tried is finally sentenced to death in that foreign country. What a shame. Well, thats the case with many christians today. Going back to our illustration, we can see that even when the ambassador started to act indecently and irresponsibly he was still a citizen of his country even till death but he disqualifies and prevents himself(not the country) from going back to his native country. Many christians will or already have disqualified and are preventing themselves from going back to their original home which is heaven like that ambassador. They are so captured and lured with the evil and vain lust and desires of this world that they forget their real homes and allow this sinful world to robbed them of their rightful inheritance. Now imagine that this ambassador's native country has rules and regulations for all of its inhabitants. Adulterers, fornicators, liars, homosexuals, thieves and all sinners are not allowed into his country and this ambassador is aware of this and on getting to the country of his assignment he starts acting against the moral rules of his country despite the fact that he knows that he is disobeying his country's rules and regulations. What do you think will happen to that ambassador's citizenship? He is going to lose his citizenship of course. 

Jehovah God because of Christ's sacrifice for us has provided an atonement for all our sins because heaven, our native home, has a zero tolerance to all form of sins and so we should ask for forgiveness when we make mistakes and never repeat them by the renewing of our minds and growth in God's word, Romans 12:1-2, 1 John 1:9, Romans 6:16-22 (never take advantage of the grace of God to sin more and please reject any false doctrine that encourages sin or condones sin, Romans 6:1-15) and even though we have been made righteous by grace, (Romans 3:22, Phillipians 3:9) and holy because of the blood of Jesus and the indwelling of the holy spirit in us (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Hebrews 10:10,) we must practice righteousness and holiness because thats who we are (Revelations 22:14-15, 1 John 3:7, Galatians 5:19-25, 1 Peter 1:14-17, 1 Peter 2:11-12, 2 Corinthians 7:1).We were not born from a sinful God. We were born from a holy, pure and loving God so we must not act and live like people born from the god of sin who is the devil. Shine as God's lights and children, bear godly fruits and live a life that pleases God not because you are trying to earn your way to heaven but because thats who we are; a righteous and holy people and children of the holy and pure God.

Please if you are not yet a born again christian and you are not yet a member of Jesus Christ's family I want you to say with your mouth and believe this words in your heart: Lord Jesus I accept you today as my Lord and Savior. I believe that you died for my sins and arose for my justification and that you are seated in heaven as the most high and as the son of God. Thank you for you have done today in my life. Amen.
