Welcome to another enlightening time on The Truth. The Christian site that provides enlightening spiritual and biblical truths and revelations. In my last post, I discussed the Christian virtue known as Integrity and it's importance in our Christian spiritual growth and maturity. I hope that it enlightened you.

 Today we will continue our discuss on the Christian graces because they are the most important virtues and characteristics of a true Christian, any believer who seeks to attain Christian perfection and wants to receive a  glorious ovation in heaven must practice them through the help of the Holy Spirit, so without wasting any time let's delve into today's discuss but before we do that we must pray to the Holy Spirit for enlightenment and guidance for some seconds or minutes(please pray).  Let's turn our bibles to the book of 2 Peter 1:5-6 which says "because of this, make every effort to add integrity to your faith;and to integrity add knowledge;and to knowledge add self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance and patient endurance leads to Godliness"(God's word to the nations translation). Please note the words I marked because they are very important. From our above bible text Apostle Peter continues to enlighten and teach us on the important virtues we will need to depict our heavenly citizenship on earth. These Christian graces are the traits needed by every Christian to attain practical perfection and depict and prove that Christ is growing richly in any Christian.

Apostle Peter tells us to make every effort to add to our integrity Knowledge. What is knowledge? The new testament was written almost entirely in the Greek language and so some understanding of some of the root words of some of the terms used in the bible will give us a rich understanding and help every believer assimilate the message the bible authors are trying to relay to us. Knowledge in the Greek language is gnosis which means to know, to understand, to perceive and recognize. The ancient Greeks loved knowledge(sensual, worldly, carnal and mystical knowledge) and loved to listen to any new mysticism, philosophy, religion or idea but Apostle Peter in this bible verse is enjoining his readers to grow in Godly, mature and divine knowledge(epignosis). Apostle Peter is telling every believer to make every effort to add Godly or heavenly knowledge to the integrity they now possess (am sure that everyone who read my post on Integrity has grown in it) and must endeavor to grow in our knowledge of God our savior. Ignorance about God and His divine word is so prevalent among many Christians today and this has led many believers to fall victim and become easy prey for many of these end times false teachers and religious leaders who exploit them  like Apostle Peter prophesied in 2 Peter 2:1-3, 12-19. Lack of an indepth biblical and spiritual knowledge has created unnecessary divisions and disputes among Christians and it shouldn't be so. Every Christian must endeavor that he/she makes the bible the only guide of his/her life. Consume the bible. Read, study and meditate on the bible. I must confess it helps and aids our spiritual growth and enlightenment. The more we study the bible the more the presence and power of the Holy Spirit opens the portal of our mind so that the light that is Jesus Christ can shine and the more Jesus Christ shines in our minds the faster we attain spiritual maturity, perfection, enlightenment and understanding.

  I have read the bible from genesis to revelation four times and i'm not planing on stopping because I have realized how much it has enlightened me. Each day I walk in new lights that is Jesus Christ and my spiritual growth has greatly been accelerated since I increased my consumption of the bible. My fellow Christian brethen I beg you to grow in the knowledge that is Jesus Christ as this will guide you in these perilous end times leading to the rapture.

 Apostle Peter also tells us to add self-control to the knowledge we now possess because possessing knowledge without self-control is like having a car without the steering wheel. Self-control in the original Greek is enkrateia which means "possessing power or having strong mastery over ones desires and passions. I must confess that possessing self-control especially when one is hurt or mistreated unfairly isn't easy but as we allow the Holy Spirit to grow in our inner man and we make up our mind to possess self-control we then begin see the fruit of self-control manifest in our lives as Christians. Any Christian who lacks self-control will always be an easy prey for the mischiefs of the devil and to his/her temptations. Such Christians fall easily into sins like fornications, adultery, fights, hatred, envy, murder and other sins that bring shame to the Christian way, sins that God hates and detests so much. Jesus Christ exhibited self-control when he was abused, slapped and hit prior to his crucifixion(Mark14:65). He could have retaliated by sending the hosts of heaven to avenge him but he didn't because He wanted to leave a blueprint in our Christian life for us to follow and the same thing occurred with Stephen, the first matyr of the church. The importance of self-control in our Christian race cannot be over-emphasized. If Jesus Christ and the early apostles depicted and practiced it so must we modern day Christians. Even Jehovah Elohim possesses self-control because am sure without it He would have destroyed mankind again due to our unrepentant, evil and malicious sins and atrocities committed everyday. Therefore if our uncreated, self existing father and God,Jehovah Elohim possesses and practices self-control we must also as His children possess, practice and exhibit.

You can become a born again christian by saying these words with your mouth and believing them in your heart, say "Lord Jesus Christ I welcome you as master and God of my life. I believe that you died for my sins and arose for my justification and you are seated in heaven as the son of God. Lord Jesus I accept you as master of my life. Thank you for cleansing me and making me a citizen of heaven. Amen." Please if you said those you are now a child of Jesus Christ and a citizen of heaven, please start attending a bible teaching and serve Jesus Christ.
